DIY: Halloween jars

In honor of the {giant} shipment of apothecary jars we recently received, we are dedicating this quick ‘Do It Yourself’ moment to ..you guessed it.. Apothecary Jars!

Halloween is just around the corner, so this is only fitting…

Easy enough, huh? Just choose a cute font on your computer, print, and cut! Fill the jars with candy corns or even mini-pumpkins and then put your “BOO” (“EEK would be cute too!) cutouts in place.
Speaking of candy… I just filled my jars with some from the DB Candy Bar and am loving the result!

And finally, what would Halloween be without something spooky? Martha Stewart’s got that covered…

Girl’s Night Out!

It’s that time again, ladies… Girl’s Night Out is coming!!

When:   Thursday, September 8th: 6pm – 9pm
Where: Here at Designer Blvd of course!
What:    This GNO will feature a Children’s Boutique (with lots of outside vendors), a Tea Party and tasting table, free fashion demo, drawings every 10 minutes after 6pm, new merchandise, and amazing savings!
Who:    After 6pm, we’re kicking the boys out and all girls 12 years and older are welcome!

You DO NOT wanna miss this one! Grab your girlfriends and come on down!

We’re seeing a lot more monochromatic design out there these days. Subtle color combinations with neutrals– grays, whites, creams, tans, etc. that can make a room feel serene, inviting, and (at times) a tad boring. Using a pop of color can really bring your space alive. Wether you go bright and dramatic or soft and subtle, this is definitely a trend we love! Enjoy the eye candy…

Decorating for the 4th can be challenging. For most it’s not a holiday you deck your house out for, but adding a little red white and blue to the mix always helps get you in the spirit of the holiday.
